This was my second time of teaching English in elementary school at third grade students. I was so excited and happy to accept this rare chance because I had had an unforgettable experience on my first teaching in China at last summer vacation. In my first class of teaching progress, I had learned that there was a big variation between China’s and Taiwan’s students. Took China’s students for example. At the beginning, they were so shy and careful about answering the answer to me. When they heard I introducing my teaching style, they were so confuse and curious about how it could be so freedom. They cherished each teaching class moment and enjoyed learning English very well. They were so energetic and polite to me. The most important thing was that they learned to behave well. By contrast, Taiwan’s students some of them were so naughty to control and easily irritable. Some of them were so arrogant and did not scare of teachers’ blaming. They just did what they wanted and spoke what they thought without any empathy. Also, they did not care about this program of teaching English. It was a huge stroke for me of teaching in Yamingshan elementary school. In my first day of teaching, I was assign by four children, three girls and one boy. Their names were Arel, Daisy, Sharon and Berlin. Boy was shy than girls. In the first class, we had made a little presentation to introduce ourselves and review lesson one and two chapters again and again. I also corrected their pronunciations.

Today was my second time of teaching class and something was annoying me. One of my students named Daisy, who was ignoring me while I was asked her to answer the question. At the end, she made a poker face to me. I was frustrated and felt bad but in the meanwhile another student named Sharon, who encouraged me and made me laugh. It was a strange feeling for me.

Today I separated four of them to be two teams. Each of them had to write down what I said. And the winner team would get the chocolate bars as a prize. It was interesting to see their union and aspire them to fight.

It was a happy moment that ever been before because I brought the poker to class and started to teach them by English. We played the game named Sevens. It was excited for students that after a long boring teaching. When we played the games, they could practice their counting and peaking skills.
So What
After attended this teaching program, I learned that patience made me more mature to resolve the problem. I could not find any rescues to escape my fault because I was adult now. I was twenty years old. I had to responsible for my duty and started to plan my future after this several months of teaching experiences. In this teaching progress, I found that children had only a short twenty minutes to be focus on your teaching. Then after twenty minutes, they started to be impetuous and uncontrollable. I suggested that Taiwan’s education system may change a little bit, especially the “time of controlling”. It should not be so long because it would decline children attractions. Another thing was that students in nowaday became more creative than last generation, and quickly absorbed the latest information which even we did not get it.
Now What
After teaching-serving, I knew that being a good teacher was a hard work. I had to prepare any situations and be challenged by student’s moody emotions. It was not an easy job even though it seemed simple. You had to try and challenge it until you believed it was so tough. In this opportunity, I begun to push myself into limit, nothing could easily give up. I must grow up and turned to be a mature woman because it was soon to enter this realistic society. If I did not have enough ability, I would be fired and looked down. I would not let myself as a looser.

After service-learning, I changed my bad emotion into good. I realized that each single beginning thing is hard to be started. I have to be more patience and optimistic than before because the more failures I get the more experiences I will learn from them. In this world, our technology is development very well. Our teaching styles cannot be usual as last generation. We must follow the new trend and absorb what are the latest things which young people like.
