What

It was the first time for me to do this kind of activity. The first day was quite embarrassed. We introduced ourselves to the children and played a game. We tried to pumping up the atmosphere. Many students seem very shy to talk to us. After a few weeks some students were changed their attitude. I found that they were not shy at all. They were just like a crowd of wild horses. Sometimes I felt frustrated to control these children. However I like their energy. Children are supposed to enjoying the most lighthearted period in elementary school. We prepared different subject for every week. I hope they will really learn something from me.

So what

These children are really smart bur they do not have enough educational resources. I tried my best to teach them what I have known. To avoid them feel bored with the lesson, we have to design some game. And I really experienced the hard point for teachers. As a teacher, students are our duty. We cannot be late or absent for no reason. I learned to be more responsible on doing thing. I also cultivated my patience through teaching these children. I will review the lesson on that day and want to make it better.I think that is a special experience for my college life. And I like it.

Now what

After the service-learning, I learned how to get along with different kinds of children. And I feel happy to help them learning English. I finally find a way to contributing myself to the society. And I would like to join other volunteer group to helping other people. It is a good way to helping others and also developed ourselves abilities. Sometimes I will feel annoyed to preparing the teaching materials. After saw these children’s smile then all the hard works are worthy. This activity can not only help children learning English but also improve the relationship with our group members.
