What a Girl Wants

This movie is about a girl who goes to the faraway country to find her father she had never met. Her name is Daphne Reynolds, the core role in this film. Her father is an aristocrat and he is going to be the premier. He has never known he had a daughter before so when he meets Daphne, he is too shocked to believe that. Because Daphne’s parents are born in different countries, one is America and one is England, they have so many different cultures. And because of her father’s identity, Daphne’s mom decided to leave without saying good-bye. Therefore, Daphne’s father never knows why his wife left him suddenly. And after twenty years later, Daphne grows up and then she decides to go to England to find her dad. After facing so many troubles, she finally finds her dad. Everything seems wonderful, but it is just the beginning. Because her dad had had a fiancée who had a daughter already, her dad’s fiancée and her daughter do not like Daphne at all. With the different cultures, Daphne always makes some troubles. For her, everything is so strange and difficult, but she has to change herself and adapt to the life which is so different from the life in the past for her dad. And at the beginning when she finds her dad, her dad cannot adapt to the fact he has a daughter and to be a father. After getting along with Daphne more and more, he starts to know how to be a father and finds his passion back gradually. Although they grow up in different countries, they also do many things similarly with each other. Therefore, her dad’s fiancée thinks everything is changed and Daphne must threaten her daughter’s position, she and her family try to expel Daphne unscrupulously. When Daphne finally gets close to her dad, something happens－her dad’s fiancée locks her in a room when she can have a dance with her dad. When her mom saves her out, everything is too late. And because of that, her dream is broken up and she decides to leave England with her mom. After they go back to America and return to their original life, her dad finally finds out why his wife left him without saying good-bye. Actually, all the things are planned by his fiancée’s dad so he decides to give up his position to find his wife and daughter back. While he goes to America, Daphne and her mom are working for a wedding party. And at the time for the father-daughter dance, Daphne eventually dances with her dad to make her dream come true. In the end, they live happily forever. This movie wants to tell us what a girl really wants and how to make her dream come true just like the name of the movie.
