     When I went to the Yamingshan elementary school for the first time, Miss Liu divided students into several groups due to student’s English ability. And then, I got three third graders.
     At the beginning, I thought they are cute like angels. No longer, they were out of control. Besides, one of students called Joe said he does not want to learn English. I tried to let him know that learning English is very important, but it was not useful at all.
     Because I wanted to know their English levels, I gave them a quiz, and I found that they could not write A to Z. Due to that, it was a big challenge for me to teach them.

     I prepared some gifts to them, but they needed to get some seals from me and met my expectation. Because they wanted to have gifts, they answer my question actively. Therefore, I knew that it is a good to make them be interested in learning.

     Although I taught them for the third times, they still could not write A to Z. Thus, I changed my way of teaching. I began to give them a quiz before I taught them. The reason is I had to know what they do not understand. Therefore, I could know which letters of alphabet they could not read. And then, I could read for them, and asked them to repeat after me.

     Joe played some tricks on another child called Winnie. Moreover, he kicked her textbook. Due to that, I was very angry and even yelled him. And then, he cried. Although I wanted to comfort him, he rejected me and said I was an idiot. I feel very frustrated, so I told Miss Liu I could not teach him anymore. However, Miss Liu asked me to give him a chance. Thus, I still needed to teach him. This was a bad day.

     Joe became very obedient. He began to ask me some questions about English and answer my question actively. I was so happy, so I decided to pay more attention on Joe.
I taught them how to read one to twelve. Moreover, I played a bingo game with English numbers. I thought it could make them memorize letters clearly.
4/27
     I prepared cards to play some games about English. They are very excited at it, because I also prepared some candies for the winner. In the process, someone may be unhappy because s/he was not lucky at all. Thus, I told them if they wanted to play games, they could not have quarrels with each other.

So What
在服務的過程中,我得到了哪一方面的收穫?得到了甚麼感動?觀察到了甚麼樣的新事物?今天是不是有我能做卻沒做的?下一次的服務學習是否有更不一樣的方式?
1. After service-learning, I need to be grave and serious in front of my students. The reason is students only respect someone who is very confident. Moreover, I learned how to control my emotion because I can not yell at my students and even give them up. Thus, I knew that having a good relationship with students is very important.
2. I feel very proud of my students because I thought that they changed a lot and they would be better.
3. I found that children usually do something to get more attention, so I will pay more attention on everyone.
4. Sometimes I could not take care of every children, so I will find way to do that well.
5. Children like to play games, but I seldom played games with them, so I will change my way of teaching.
服務反思
Now What
藉由這次的服務經驗我看待事物是否有不同的角度?新的想法?新的看法?我期待有什麼樣的改變?下一次我能再付出什麼?
1. In the past, I was a student. Now I am a children’s teacher. Thus, I knew that being a teacher is not very easy. I would respect any teacher I have.
2. Because of this service-learning, I would do my best to improve my English skills. After all, I should teach my students, so my pronunciation should be better than now.
3. Next time, I think I can teach them well because of this service-learning.

     After this service learning, I learned a lot, so if I I still have a chance to join it, I must enroll it.
