(What)

I taught them word of colors, animals, and alphabets. When I taught them about colors, a student told me she likes rainbow because of many colors. I told her “Rainbow will give you wish and hope.” She answered me “I want to bring it to my mother.”

(So What)

I saw a student sharing cookies to his classmates; he came to me and said “The biscuits are for you.”I was very moved because he knows how to share with others.

(Now What)

If I have another chance, I want to be their friends next time. I want to play with them and not just be their English teacher. I expect them to share everything with me.

March 9^th is the first day that I came to Yangmingshan elementary school for teaching English. Before that day, I went to school to find their tutor. I just remember what the teacher said “A lot of devils in this class. So, you must be patient.” What I am thinking in that moment was “Connie was always so lucky.” Then, here comes the day. When I walked in the classroom, there are seven students from second grade was staring at me, actually I have eight students. And I was say hi with my passion to them. Their teacher introduced me to the students. Suddenly, a kid raised his hands and said “I prefer to the teacher that taught us before.” “What a real devil. I don’t even teach you yet.” I considered. I know he meant no harm but I felt so embarrassed, so did the teacher. Their teacher immediately explained to them and this made me more embarrassed. Generally, they are well behaved at first day. I think this is a good start. In contrast, they knew who am I and they start to resist me at second week. The students talked in the class, fight in the class, and run in the class. It was really a mess. After the class, I was exhausted. I don’t know why I am doing. After few weeks, something was change. A student named Henry shared his cookies to me. A student named Lisa hugged me and told me “I missed you very much.” I think I learn something and get something from teaching them English.
