According to this article, there're two main theses included in it.
First one is dental x-rays have high risk of causing brain tumor. A new study institution assembled some people that had brain tumor and some were health. They conducted an experiment and found that the people with brain tumor received many times of dental x-rays, and the mostly common x-rays, bitewing , could cause twice as probability as getting brain tumor, and the panoramic x-ray could cause more than five times. But the study doesn't scare people away from dental visit. It tells us maybe we can ask the dentist to reduce the number of x-rays.
Second one is a discussing about gum disease. Lots of people believe that gum disease would bring the heart attacks. Because mouth bacteria often enter the blood system when we go to the dentist and brush teeth. However, there are not ample evidence to prove it.
I consider that we should pay more attention to our teeth. If we have no dent in our teeth, we don't have to see a dentist. As a result, decline the number of x-rays. And, although, gum illness couldn't give rise to heart attacks, we ought to more care about our oral health.
