Plagiarism

It is the first time I see this vocabulary, plagiarism. I learn the meaning of word after I look up the dictionary. Well, it is not a good word. Everyone should avoid this behavior. Plagiarism means that use someone else’s words or ideas in our own words. No one will accept this dishonest behavior. Once we caught by school or someone else, it will ruin our reputation. Most schools are very strict about plagiarism. If the student plagiarizes, they will fail the assignment or even more will kick out of the school. Everyone may remember what we did before. When our friends know what we do, they will very disappoint with us. No one will like a person who plagiarizes, because we steal someone’s idea. However, sometimes student didn’t do it on purpose. It is hard to distinguish that whether we plagiarize or not. According to the information from the Internet said that asking questions by us. For example, “did I know this information before I took this course” or “did this information or idea come from my own brain?” When I was a junior high school student, teachers always asked me to list the sources I used when I was doing reports. At that time I thought that behavior was troublesome. But now I realize why they asked me to do this. That information is not my own idea. We need to respect the author. Just as the information said “all knowledge is built up from previous knowledge.” We create our own idea base on previous knowledge. Our own ideas are the most important part in the report. All teachers asked us to show our opinion in the report. I remember one of my teacher said that she wants to know our opinion rather than the information on the Internet, if do so she can search the information by herself. Well, our opinions are unique. If our opinions are great, maybe one day someone will base on our opinions and create their own idea. We need to avoid plagiarizing. If we plagiarize, we will have bad reputation for whole life.
