my style of learning a second language

96211181 蔡竹薰

In my process of learning my second language, English, I think there are some factors when I practice it. Like I am willing to communicate with foreigners, I am extroversion, and I have strong motivation and intrinsic motivation.

I had a relationship with English when I was an elementary school’s student. At that time, I learned in the Kojen English Centers. I still remembered that I studied the same level twice or even third times in the early period. Then, I changed another cram school after few years. I had been to Gao Guo-hua cram school and Liou Yi cram school during my high school time. During this period, my target is to get a higher grade and school. Therefore, I learned many skills rather than speaking or dairy conversation. Now, I am in the Ching Shan Language Institute. In this institute, it’s no longer for skills. I have to study how to communicate and speak to a foreigner; and I even understand the meaning of an article rather than learning how to choose an answer.

Now, I am an English major student in the Chinese Culture University. I have more chances to connect with the materials about English now or even different skills to understand English. I also have many opportunities to talk with my foreign teacher fluently. I am not afraid of making mistakes when speaking to them. When they asked us to use English to speak or asked questions, I usually used English to answer them.

I really like to have a good relationship with foreigners. Then, we can make friends. It is not just for English; I like to learn languages. Therefore, I’d like to try and do my best to learn vary languages.

  1. Most of the time, we learn a second language not just for the sake of language itself. We learn it for other purposes such as making friends, learning about a new culture, getting ourselves across, and so on.
