English Learning Experiences

When I was an elementary school student, at that time my father told me that English was important in the future. They let me study English in a cram school. I was also happy at that time, because I felt English was easy to me. Every time we played a game, I usually won. In junior high school, English was easy, too. I could get good grades in the tests. And in senior high school, there was a little difficult in English. We had to memorize the sentences from the text books and phrases from Dickson. At that time, there was a lot of vocabulary we should memorize in our minds. My classmates also liked English, and they also got good grades. I had to study hard or I would lose in English. That was a sound in my mind. So I had to study much more than before. I really liked the competition between my classmates.
Now, in the college, I also study English. I really love the environment around English. When I don’t know the English meanings, I will ask my friends or teachers. I also have a job to teach elementary school students. I also use games to teach them. They also like this kind of teaching method. It’s really good!

  1. You must also agree that games are not for every learner. Do you think you would gain much in classes such as Linguistics or British Literature by playing games? Of course the age of the learners and the nature of the subjects are something we need to take into consideration when devising tasks for a language class.
