     In “Why People Should Read for Pleasure” (Advanced Composition for Non-Native Speakers of English http://eslbee.com/why_people_should_read_for_pleasure.htm), the author wants to tell us that the Internet and the TV cause people to change their likes in free time. The writer encourages people to read for pleasure, so the writer takes three advantages to suggest people.

    The first reason that we should enjoy reading is when we read, we can expand our knowledge and culture. To me, I think the view is correct, because I believe that the more knowledge we learn, the more achievement we get. In addition, I also believe we can learn many different things and views that we can’t learn from parents or teachers. The writer also mentions that the people who read more often frequently have a bigger knowledge of life.

    The second reason is that through books we can have fun and even travel in our imagination. Adults and children have the ability to imagine, and the imagination also can help us to develop our professional career in a creative way. Once I had read a story and imagined that I was a superman to save the world from bad guys. Although it was an imagination, I thought that I also had the power to help others.

    The third reason is that reading offers us that it does not matter the age that we have, we always can expand our vocabulary and the ways to express our ideas to the others in a simple and correct form. In my opinion, people should be never too old to learn. Take paragraph’s example, people who choose a formal book in which they can find formal grammatical structures, which allow us to gain greater fluency in communication.

    Nowadays, the technology becomes one of the most important things in the human’s life. More and more people choose to watch TV or surf the Internet in their free time. In fact reading is better than other way to do in our free time, because reading not only can expand our knowledge and culture, but also can have fun and in our imagination through books. Besides, reading offers us to express our ideas in a simple and correct form.
