The Pursuit of Happyness

I remembered I had seen a movie named The Pursuit of Happyness many years ago. It is a movie adapted from a real story. It talks about a man named Christ Gardner, his part of life. He had a poor childhood. The first time he met his father was in his 28 ages. At that time, he made up his mind, if he had a child, he wouldn’t let his child do not know who his father was. However, Gardner didn’t have an easy time after few years he had his son, either. In this movie, it focuses on the worst time which Gardner had met in his life.
In the movie, Gardner was a salesman selling portable bone-density scanners for living. He put in all his property into these medical devices. He was the only one selling them in the Bay Area. However, he didn’t know doctors and hospitals would consider them unnecessary luxuries. So after few years he bought those devices, he hadn’t sold any for a long time. Because of the financial problem, Gardner’s wife, Linda couldn’t stand to live an unhappy life with him and decided to leave home.
At that time, he recalled what Thomas Jefferson had mentioned in Declaration of Independence, “the part our right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” Gardner wandered how Jefferson knew to put the pursuit part in there. He thought that maybe happiness is something that we can only pursue, or maybe we can actually never have it. I think that is because happiness can be the easiest or the most difficult thing to be pursued. It depends on the way how people look at things.
Yet, Gardner didn’t knock down by his bankruptcy and Lind’s leaving. Instead, he lived his life more hardly than before. Fortunately, he got a chance to attend an intern program for getting an opportunity to be a stockbroker. Although he lived a life like he had to take his son to sleep in a motel or even in a toilet at MRT station, he still went to the non pay intern every day.
However, the intern program took only twenty people every six months. And only one got the job. So it was pretty difficult to be the one who can get the job. Even so, Gardner still tried his best in his intern. He called all of the names on the list from   subordinates to administrators. He even visited with customers and involved into their social circles to expand his selling market. After his hard work, he brought in the most money for the company after six months, and became an official staff of the company. After beginning his career at the company, Dean Witter, Christ Gardner went on to fund the investment firm Gardner Rich in 1987.
This movie convinced me that no matter how awful situation you are being now, it could be reversed to a better situation if you want to change and carry out your thought.(500 words)
