Elvis at Animals Taiwan

What is Animals Taiwan? And who is Elvis? I think those will be your first questions when you see the topic. Animals Taiwan (I’ll call it AT) is an organization for helping injured street dogs and a place for them to live. I went there almost every weekend when I was in the first year. This photo was shot when I first visit AT. The dog besides me is Elvis, the gentlest dog I’ve ever seen. As you can see, Elvis only has three lags. When Elvis was a street dog, his lag had accidently cut by the gin trap, and his lag went bad when AT’s volunteer find him. So, now you must wondering, after a little background introducing, what are this related to Elvis’ gentleness? Well, that me finish! When AT’s volunteer took Elvis from street to the vet, he did not get angry, he did not bite, and he didn’t even bark. Try to image, if your lag was cut by gin trap, seriously injured and barely to walk, can you stay in peace like Elvis? I know I can’t do it for sure. Moreover, when the vet was doing the surgery, Elvis just simply lie there and stared at the vet’s eye telling the doc “that’s do this now, I’ll do whatever I can to cooperate.”
It turned out good. Elvis survives.
Get back to the first time I met Elvis. When I saw him, he stood there, looking at me, he is not afraid of me, good. Then, I got closer and touched him; he did not play spoiled child stuff, even better! He is kind, but at the same time, he has his dignity. And all these make Elvis a gentle dog. Latter, I took Elvis to have a walk, I find out he is such a good walker. He doesn’t pull you, he doesn’t go whenever he wants to go, he will automatically notice and follow your speed, he always walk at your right side, when you stop, he stops, you walk, he walks. No need to pull him or tell him what to do, he knows!
Elvis is such a gentle man, a charming gentle man, I would say. He would not jump up to your shoulders like young ones; he is still strong contract with old ones, he shows his kindness when he walks to you and allows you to touch him, and at the same time, he has his dignity. All features combine together makes a wonderful dog called Elvis.
