Diamonds Aren't Forever

Every women's dream is wearing a big diamond on the wedding. In the advertisement, a man used a big diamond to propose and that woman was very happy and felt touched. At the end of the advertisement, it said" A diamond is forever." Everyone see that advertisement may think that diamond is necessary for propose and getting marriage. However, is diamond really necessary in marriage? Or it is just a business for the merchant. In Africa, the civil war never stop. The rebels need weapons, so they force people to mine the diamonds. If people resist, the rebels will hack their arms or legs even kill them. So they call these diamonds, "blood diamond". These diamonds full of blood and tears. They symbolize African's poor and pain. The rebels use these diamonds to change money and weapons then use weapons to force and kill people. It comes a terrible circle in Africa. The business man gets these illegal diamonds to manufacture to rings and sell high rice. And the people who want to get marry, they would buy the diamond ring. In this essay, it says diamond is worth nothing. The girl wants to marry with a guy who loved her, not with a diamond ring. It also says, "When a guy gives a woman a diamond and someone was killed for it, it is not worth anything. " Don't make your happy on the others pain. When you are happy for getting a diamond, but there are someone lose their arms, legs or life in Africa. You have a happy wedding that make you feel just like in heaven, on the other side, there are many people who may lose their family and just like lived in the hell. We have to boycott the blood diamond. If we don't buy it, may be the African people would have a better life in the future.
