Recently, I discovered an old book on my shelf. I was curious about the content, so I took the old book and read it. One of the story was impressed me a lot, which named “The north wind and the sun.”
One day, there had a dispute between the north wind and the sun, each claiming that he was stronger than the other, so they decided to hold a contest. To see who could soonest strip the traveler’s coat.
The north wind made a rude way to him, but the harder he blew, the closely the traveler wrapped it round himself, then came the turn of the sun. He just beamed gently upon the traveler, who soon took off his coat. The end is “The sun is the winner.”
The moral of this story is told us that “Persuasion is better than force.” If our opinion is different to others, we can’t force that person to obey our idea, and we have to persuade him or her in a polite way.
The personality of the sun is very gentle. The sun let us feel warm, hope, but the north wind personality is very furious and rigorous.
Take my family member for example: My father’s personality is similar to the north wind, when we don’t want to take his advice, he will be angry, and he will command us to follow him. But my mother’s personality is similar to the sun, she will explain her thoughts to us in a kind manner, and realize our opinions.
This fable gave us a lesson that if we want to change a person’s mind, we can’t use a rigorous measure like the north wind, it just can only let the person be afraid of us but works in vain on communication. Only when we using a genial mood, it can really move a person’s mind!
To sum up, when we treat to everybody, we can’t use a violent way or give person a heavy pressure. We must respect to each other, no matter what decision they decide. Only when we do in a right way we could have a good relationship in the world!
