Maokong

Last Friday, my classmates visited me from senior high school. They visited for half of the day. I showed them round Taipei. After school, I strolled along Taipei city center with them. We gossiped for whole afternoon. They told me that they would go home the next morning, so I would shepherd them to the bus station at seven o’clock. Time is too short to get together. A good idea ran though my mind. We decided motorcycles to Maokong. It is very exciting for us. We spent 40 minutes arriving in Maokong at 2 o’clock a.m. On the road, because it was so dark that we couldn’t see the road clearly, we felt scared but fresh. Maokong is famous for her night-seeing, Gondola and tea. Many tourists come to taste the tea while enjoying the night scene. However, it’s too late to take gondola, so we just went to enjoy the scenery. We went there to visit its tea plantations and tea houses. The place was old-fashioned it had a classic and elegant flavor. It reminded me that the Chinese and Taiwanese are a tea-loving people. In China, it is an old tradition to tea the guest. It is good manners to draw a cup of tea when friends visit. The proprietor of teahouse taught us brewed tea. He told us, “If the tea is too strong, add some hot water, and the thickness of the tea according as you decide.” Then, I use a small pot to brew tea for them. We sniffed the fragrance of the tea. The tea could rouse us. We were in high spirits after we drank a cup of tea. And I could refresh with the pot of tea. But time goes by fast when we played poker and chatted. The day dawned calmly. Bird chirpings announced that it was already dawn. It is time to went home.
