The television has become such an important part in the modern world, and it is hard to imagine our life without television. It provides entertainment to all the people in different ages, especially to the children. Children love to watch cartoon and prefer to stay in front of the television screen all day long, rather than reading books or playing outside. In Taiwan, according to The Child Welfare League Foundation's research in 2010, more than 75% of children said that their weekend leisure activities are watching television. Moreover, there are even 25.5% of children watching television more than six hours during the holidays. Television is loved by children and has helped them learning some new, but it also has influenced them in a negative way.
Some people argue that children should be allowed to watch a lot of television, because it can educate their children by the cartoon or some children programs, like MOMO children station teaching children how to be a good kid, Sesame Street teaching children to learn the alphabet or vocabulary. However, nowadays most children come home from school left alone and the only entertainment to them is to watch television, due to their parents have to work late. Without adults nearby, they might be watching programs with violence, sex, or bad language and learn it without consciousness. Then, children will start to imitate what they see on the television and show the aggressive behavior.
In the end, the question:"Is Television a Bad Influence on Children?" This is a matter of opinion, but to me, I think is a bad influence more than a good one.
