People usually have different opinion about
what is good city, and one person’s ideal of good city may easily be another
person’s city nightmare. In fact, my classmate and I recently had discussion
about whether her hometown town, Taipei or my hometown , Yun-Lin is better
city. Our discussion centered on three differences points between our
hometowns.
Our first point of discussion was the convention of transportation.
Needless to say , Taipei is a great convenient city. It has train station, MRT
station, airport and High Speed Rail. Even than the bus comes fifteen to twenty
minutes intervals. Yun-Lin just has train station and bus. But not all of town
has train station and the bus usually comes thirty minutes to one hour
intervals. Although that ,Yun Lin still have basic transportation than other
city.
We also considered the temperature in both cities. Yin Lin is a city of
standard season temperatures, not too hot, not too cold. The best point is when
the typhoon comes, Yin Lin just rain and windy. It seldom happen major
disaster. Because of Heat island effect, Taipei is very hot in summer. Because
of Northeast monsoon, Taipei is colder than most of city. And when the Typhoon
comes, Taipei usually become the first disaster area. So I think Yin Lin is
better .
Finally , our two hometowns have different kinds of environment. Taipei
is filled of skyscrapers and senior housing. Even area is beautiful. Yun Lin
has endless farmland, fresh air and many small but sweet house. People can get
close to nature.
In the end, many classmate and I learned
that each of our city has it’s unique characteristics. Every city is perfect
city.
I think you make a good comparison between Taipei and Yun Lin.
