The people who can on the list of the 100 the most influential person in the world must be a famous or rich person, I think. So it is hard to believe that a vegetable vendor could on U.S. Time magazine’s 2010 list of the 100 the most influential person in the world. Why she can on the list? The magazine states that is because her philanthropy. The magazine states that the vegetable vendor, Chen Shu-chu, has managed donate nearly NT$10 million to help the children who poor with education, food and health care. She did not complete her elementary school. She started to sell vegetable when she was thirteen. This work is not easy to do. She needed to get up early to prepare and the last to close. It is hard to image that she can donate lots of money only by her work. I think it must take her many years to do. She said “Money serves its purpose only when it is used for those who need it.” Not many people have this kind of thought especially in the depression. It is hard for people to do this kind of thing like she did. So she is a generous person. Even she is not very rich still tries her best to help other people. Recently there are many accidents such as earthquake, typhoon. These accidents destroy many families’ life. They need our help. Maybe we are not rich enough but we can donate what we have such clothes, food and supplies. It is hard for people to donate a lot of money in a short time but we can do it day by day. Many a little makes a mickle.
